DANVILLE LIGHT OPERA welcomes newcomers as well as past participants.  You do not need to be a member of DLO to audition for a show.

Audition dates, times, and other details will be posted on the Home page of this site.  Bring a prepared vocal selection to auditions.  An accompanist is provided.  Copies of the script are available (for in-library reading only) at the Danville Public Library.

DLO offers many opportunities for persons who want to join in the fun of community theatre but do not want to appear on stage.  Perhaps you would enjoy helping with sets, costumes, lights, sound, or props.  DLO also seeks producers, stage managers, rehearsal and show pianists, and orchestra members.

Even if you do not want to participate directly in show production, you can help in other ways.  DLO needs assistance with grant applications, ticket sales, publicity, program ad sales, and many other administrative functions.

A DLO season membership entitles you to a ticket to each of the three regular season musicals, including dinner at the winter show, plus a ticket to the summer youth musical.  The price per show is less than if tickets are purchased for individual productions.  You will also benefit from being able to make reservations for each regular season show before seats are offered to the general public.  (Seats for the youth musical are not reserved.)  Season membership prices are $55 for adults and $40 for students through age 18.

Did you know that only about 70 percent of the cost of a DANVILLE LIGHT OPERA production is met through ticket sales?  DLO must rely on generous donations from businesses, foundations, and individuals and on grants from state and other agencies to keep ticket prices affordable.  You can help maintain top-quality musical theatre by sending a check to DANVILLE LIGHT OPERA, P.O.
